Experience
I have 30 years of experience in the mental health field, with 20 years working in private practice with individuals and couples.
After obtaining my Bachelor of Arts in psychology and creative writing from Sarah Lawrence College, I began working on inpatient psychiatric units in 1994. I obtained my Master of Social Work from New York University's Silver School of Social Work in 2001 and have worked in a variety of hospital and clinic settings since that time.
I received training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from Behavioral Tech, in Seattle, as well as psychoanalytic training from the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center in New York City.
I have facilitated support groups for people living with cancer at Gilda’s Club, New York City, and have given talks on body image, sexuality and touch during and after cancer treatment.
